Join Amy Mosquera with Adelante Educational Specialists Group and Dr. Lindsay Meeker, Early Childhood Bilingual Specialist/Professor for a full day of interactive play and learning!
This interactive workshop will capitalize on the importance of play and how it enhances language and literacy development for Multilingual Learners.
- Participants will gain a deeper understanding of language development and how to support multilingual learners during play.
- Participants will develop oracy strategies alongside foundational literacy skills within a play-based literacy block.
- Participants will understand and apply the various types of play and playful, culturally responsive learning environments.
- Participants will understand how to incorporate a translanguaging stance in their classrooms that will honor and elevate their language and understanding.
- Participants will learn how to build play plan processes that align with their current content and/or social emotional learning competencies.
- Participants will reflect on their current assessment practices to determine authenticity within the play environment and if necessary, consider additional options for assessment as learning
